Excellent food and market tour! - Excellent food and market tour in Cairo! Nada was great, and in addition to the wonderful food selection we tried, she provided a lot of interesting history on the market, and Cairo. This experience is outside of the typical tourist areas, and we loved seeing these smaller family run businesses and trying the variety of amazing foods!

Nice walk through Old Cairo with TONS of food. - Great variety of food in a great setting. Tour guide was friendly and accommodating. We were able to see a glimpse of Old Cairo while enjoying some traditional dishes. Very different than other food tours I have done but still enjoyable.

Great food and guide - A very nice evening out with more than enough food! Definitely come hungry, you will find a diverse range of Egyptian cuisine and the guide is very knowledgeable and kind. I had a private tour so I was able to ask many questions about the dishes and about ancient Egypt since the tour guide was an Egyptologist. Judging by the conversations alone it was already worth it!

Best food tour of Cairo - I took this evening street food tour of Cairo in February 2025 and it will always be one of my favourite memories. I felt like I got to see (and taste) a part of Egypt I had never imagined I would, The food was authentic and delicious. The sights were fascinating. My guide Mona was wonderful and really knew her way around places where tourists were rare. Don’t miss this - I would like to go back with a friend and do it again! Das

Great intro to Cairo and local food - The perfect introduction to Cairo for my first night in Egypt. Nada took me to many small local places in the alleys around Islamic Cairo. She had much to say about both the food and Egyptian history and modern life. It’s a lot more than a food tour, but the food was excellent or course. Highly recommended.

A great walking food tour in Cairo! - We really enjoyed our food tour with Nada. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about Egyptian culture and food. She took us on a very interesting walk through the back streets and alleys where the locals go. We went to an area we would not have gone to on our own, nor would we have tried the food and drinks without her expertise. I was worried about getting sick like I had earlier in the week after eating at a mall but we did not get sick after eating the food she provided on our tour. The food and drinks were very good and the experience was wonderful. Nada took care of kept us safe on the busy streets plus helped us get a safe ride home. Thank you Nada and A Chefs Tour Cairo!!

A Chef's Tour here is not A Chef's Tour there ... - Having done "A Chef's Tour" in Kuala Lumpur and coming away well fed and well educated I hoped for the same experience in Cairo. Our tour started late at 5pm (instead of 4pm) as requested by the guide as one of the restaurants would be open till then. That was fine and we didn't actually get started till 530pm due Cairo traffic delaying a few guests. Whilst our guide did keep the tour informative the actual food though was an odd assortment of super dry shortbread biscuits, cold cinnamon porridge, extremely salty pickles, raw spinach like dip with relief provided by iced hibiscus tea. The only food of real substance was a falafel pocket, a small noodle dish and a quarter mince meat pocket bread. Unfortunately no smokey kebabs or lamb as shown in the advertisement weren't offered. The tour finished at 820pm. I asked the guide if that was it expecting to run till at least 9pm or the advertised 4 hours but alas it concluded short on time and food. We were organising ourselves an Uber to get back to out hotel but the guide said the taxi driver would do it for the same price .... we checked getting into the the taxi but on getting to the hotel the driver tried to extract more money even after we had tipped him but thats not on the guide, just get Uber is my recommendation.

Would not recommend - Didn’t really like it to be honest. As a solo traveller I expected to be with more people but it was only me and the tour guide. He was basically watching me the whole time eating since he was not eating, I was trying to have a conversation but we didn’t really had a click so it was hard to keep it going. The food we eat was okay, but could definitely had find that by myself as well.
