Habu Temple: Ancient Madinat Habu, the Birthplace of Amun and Site of Historical Temples

Madinat Habu, formerly known as Djanet in antiquity, was believed to be the initial site of Amun’s manifestation according to old beliefs. A temple in honor of Amun was constructed here by both Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis III. Later on, Rameses III built his more extensive memorial temple at this location.
