Lagooning in Iceland - Easily accessible from the port, excellent view of the town from the water. Sauna and chill plunge worth it, but the cold water is bracing!! Quick free shuttle from the city info center. If you don't want to spend the whole day walking around, consider this excellent excursion and book directly through Viator. Yes, the drink and towel upcharge is worth it. Also, the 10-second bathing suit dryer is a nice touch!

Very good experience and will do it again - Great, wonderful experience from the beginning to the end. My husband and I really enjoyed it. It’s something any traveling person should do when visiting.

Nice pool and sourrounding - We are coming soon at morning, than was only some people inside the pool. Was really nice and calm. After the people from cruise ship are coming, but the pool was still not so crowded. Everybody have a drink in hand, chatting and was like a fair there, but was funny. The buildings are beautiful, from outside, from inside. Nice view to the sorunding forest. There are few toilets for the people let inside. Also small rooms/place for change clothes - we was like sardines in a can. Like the shuttle bus to and from the lagoon - find info on their web page.

Awesome trip! - We went to Forest Lagoon when visiting Akureyri on a cruise. We walked up from the port towards town where you come to a large circular building. That’s where you pick up the free shuttle bus to take you to Forest Lagoon. It’s a very short drive on the shuttle (only 5-7mins). We got in and changed, showered and went into the geothermal pools. We all thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. It was a little busy when we first got there as a tour group on a coach were there which made it a little crowded. But they all had to leave after about 30mins, so that worked out really well. You are given a wristband on entry which is used to lock and open your locker. You can also use it to charge drinks to your account which you pay for at the end. We really enjoyed having a drink chilling out in there, and the kids enjoyed having a slushy. A lovely experience all round which I would recommend.

A lovely soak. - I really enjoyed my time at the hot springs. The areas were welcoming, the waters warm, hot and cold as you like. It was really enjoyable. Only issue was someone took my towel (an attendant got me a new one right away) and moved my shoes on the shoe rack.

Wonderful Experience - We arrived early and ate pizza in their bistro. It is beautifully decorated with natural wood and stone. We entered the spa at 7:30 pm. The place is tranquil with beautiful showers with everything provided. We enjoyed fun drinks at the swim up bar, the sauna and cold plunge. The spa is set next to an Icelandic forest. All staff were friendly. Light relaxing music was playing.

Very nice place - Shower and dressing areas not private. Otherwise it was a great experience. Recommendations the cold plunge after the warm soak.

A pleasant moment... until the theft DE my towel - I had a good mom EN t with family at Forest Lagoon: quiet place, pleasant setting, perfect to relax. But the EN turned short at the end DE session: my towel was stolen. Yeah, a towel. Nothing luxurious DE, but enough to ruin the exit. I told the staff: no help, no effort, no gesture. Just a fatalist “we can do nothing”. No DE spare towel offered, not even a concerned look. I was kindly left soaking wet and fuzzy. Nice. Most ironic? The place is anything but secure. Lockers are locked, of course, but those where towels are left are open to everyone. Suffice to say, if you don't stash your things in a safe, you offer them to the first person. Luckily I came in dirty taps... otherwise I left barefoot. Morality: if you go to the Forest Lagoon, come light, hide everything, and above all, do not care too much about your towel. Because they clearly ENt do not care.

Severely overrated - Was sold as a serene outing in a natural hotspring pool to relax in and unwind in a forest. In reality it was being herded like cattle in a crowded change room, shower then out to the pool. The pool itself was nice looking but by the time you crowd 300 people into it there's no relaxing to be had. The change room wasn't very clean and limited space to store footwear. The café was small but the food was pretty good although fairly expensive. A drink and fries came to $25 Canadian. For a cruise excursion that cost over $600 it was not worth the price.
