Ain El Sokhna - My wife and I booked this excursion to get away from the hustle and bustle in Cairo. We wanted to explore the water-town of Ain El Sokhna, which was stunning. The driver and tour guide were very nice and accommodating for all of our needs. They arrived promptly at the time we requested and got us back to our hotel in one piece. The beach area had very nice views; however, the water had many rocks which made it difficult to walk into and out of the water. There are many pools onsite if you prefer hanging out poolside. The quality of the day use hotel was a bit on the lower side— if you don’t mind seeing dilapidated doors and structures. The lunch menu is a pre-set 3 course meal. The meal included beef and grilled chicken with a side of rice and french fries, a salad for appetizer and desert. The food was delicious, however, it does not come with any beverages. So be prepared to spend a little extra on drinks. Lastly, they do take you to the local market to buy oils and perfumes. Please know that you can bargain to get lower prices. Overall, I thought the experience was pretty average for the price line of $300USD ($30 extra for pick up and drop off outside of the designated zones). I do not think the price line matched the excursion and the amenities. However, if you don’t mind spending for convenience; definitely book this excursion.
