It also contains the tomb of Shah Jahan himself, the visionary behind its creation.
Agra Fort - Agra Fort is a significant historical fort situated in Agra, India. It served as the primary residence for the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638, when the capital was moved from Agra to Delhi.
This formidable red sandstone fortress encloses the imperial city of the Mughal rulers within its 2.5-km-long walls. The imposing exterior conceals a paradise within. Among its exquisite structures are the Moti Masjid, a white marble mosque resembling a perfect pearl; Diwan-E-Am, Diwan-E-Khaas, Musamman Burj, where Emperor Shah Jahan passed away in 1666 A.D.; Jahangir’s Palace, Khaas Mahal, and Sheesh Mahal. Agra Fort, a superb example of Mughal architecture, is one of India’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Post-Breakfast, Jaipur Sightseeing (Amer Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar), then head to Delhi.
Amber Palace - Located 11 km from Jaipur, the Amer Fort complex is nestled among wooded hills overlooking the Delhi-Jaipur highway, with its imposing ramparts mirrored in the tranquil waters of Maota Lake below. As one of the finest examples of Rajput architecture, it was the ancient capital of the Kachhawah rulers.
The original palace was constructed by Raja Man Singh, with later additions by Sawai Jai Singh. Inside the palace are the Diwan-e-Aam or “Hall of Public Audience,” the Diwan-e-Khas or “Hall of Private Audience,” and the Sukh Niwas, where a cool breeze flows over water channels for air-conditioning.
City Palace of Jaipur - The City Palace, the residence of the Maharajas of Jaipur, remains a place of grandeur and royal living. The blend of Rajput, Mughal, and European architectural styles makes it a highly treasured tourist attraction.
Visitors will be fascinated by the enormous royal garments, the king’s court, and his special large chair. The diamonds on the crown sparkle magnificently.
Jantar Mantar - Jaipur - The Jantar Mantar monument in Jaipur, Rajasthan, is a collection of nineteen architectural astronomical instruments built by Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh II, completed in 1734. It boasts the world’s largest stone sundial and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
