- El Pino Gordo - In the National Park of the Corona Forestal there is the so-called “Pino Gordo”. Its name is no coincidence: the trunk is more than three metres wide, making it a total of ten metres in circumference. Many people try to wrap their outstretched arms around it, which requires a good number of people, but the photo of the feat is always a nice souvenir. Pino Gordo is a centuries-old Canary Island pine tree that witnessed the emergence of the island’s new volcanoes. It rises 45 metres from the ground, so there are few trees in the whole of Europe that can boast its height.
