Setting Sail with New Friends

The moment I stepped aboard the 55-foot sailing boat, I felt the familiar embrace of the sea breeze, a sensation that always brings me back to my surfing days. This time, however, I was trading my surfboard for a snorkel and a day of exploration around Milos and Poliegos. The crew—Flo, Luiza, and Captain Yannis—welcomed us with open arms, instantly creating a vibe that was both relaxed and exhilarating. It was like meeting old friends, and I knew we were in for a memorable day.

Next, we anchored at Kalogries Beach, a secluded bay with waters so clear they seemed to glow. I couldn’t resist diving in, the cool water a refreshing contrast to the warm sun. Kleftiko Beach was the highlight of the trip, its dramatic white and grey rock formations creating a natural playground for snorkelers. A Perfect Day at Sea

As we continued our journey, each stop seemed to outdo the last. At Gerakas Beach, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch on the pristine sands, the emerald waters lapping at our feet. It was a moment of pure bliss, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the camaraderie of new friends.

Our final stop was Poliegos, the largest uninhabited island in Greece. The area known as Galazia nera, or blue waters, was a sight to behold. The sea’s transparency and vibrant color were beyond words, and I took the opportunity to try stand-up paddling, a new challenge that added to the day’s adventures.

As we sailed back to Adamantas, the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the water. It was the perfect end to a perfect day, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the experience.
