Thousands of years ago, the depths of the earth cracked open, releasing lava that emerged through the water and created perfect, massive hexagonal columns of hard, dark rock. • Gerakas - The perlite mines atop this amazing and spectacular bay are what make this place so incredibly beautiful. The water is so transparent and green that you can see the white sandy bottom and the steep cliffs surrounding it, as if embracing it.
