Lake Volta is the largest man made lakes in Africa and second largest in the world.\n- Shai Hills Resource Reserve - Shai hills is the closest National game park reserve in Accra where we may see some baboons as we drive along.We can stop by for some photo taking opportunity and continue our trip back to Accra

An exceptional chance to reconnect with your heritage, culture, and ancestry. Participants will be given a traditional African name based on the day of the week they were born and can immerse themselves in village life, including activities like clay pottery making. Enjoy traditional cultural performances presented by locals to warmly welcome you into the community.
This experience is exclusively for descendants, serving as a special pilgrimage for a unique healing process. Non-descendants must be allies of the Black rights movement (such as a spouse or black family member participating). This journey offers an uplifting experience, showcasing how Africans lived as kings and queens before being taken to the Cape Coast dungeons and the new world. Additionally, you will witness the stunning beauty of the countryside.
It is recommended to bring some cash for purchasing beautiful African beads as gifts and to make a small donation to support the local community’s efforts.

My 50th Birthday Experience to AFRICA, Accra Ghana 🇬🇠- Our tour guide Toufic was amazing. He was knowledgeable about the history of Ghana, the culture, and the community called Torgome.
Where our Naming ceremony was held, with the tribe, Ewes located in the Volta Region knew Toufic well. Toufic called ahead to inform the tribe of our arrival time which made the welcome of our presence so exciting.
Lastly, Toufic took us to the Volta lake, explaining it was the 2nd largest man made lake which was very beautiful and to enjoy lunch at the amazing Restaurant called Afrikiko, put the cherry on top of everything.
Overall, an amazing experience and great atmosphere. We look forward to returning soon and hope our tour guide will again be with Toufic.
Happy 50th birthday to ME!

This is a MUST DO!! - Toufic is the best tour guide that Ghana has to offer. Not only does he have an amazing personality but his astute observations help you to better understand the culture. It was the highlight of my trip to have the naming ceremony after visiting Slave River and Elmina Castle. The entire community are so welcoming upon your arrival. Please be prepared to give a gift to the Chief after the ceremony. I didn’t know what give before getting on my flight so I gave some cedis. Lunch was great and the view of Lake Volta was stunning.
I’d recommend this to any descendant looking to learn about the traditions of your ancestors. It truly was a highlight for my trip. Request Toufic after you book.

A Restorative And Joyful Experience - What An Experience. Members Of The Diaspora Returning To The Motherland, This Is Experience To Do When In Ghana. Once out of the city you get to witness the glorious, tranquil and healing sight of Akosombo, and then your naming ceremony is spiritual and restorative. I'm addition, you get to also have lunch at a picturesque lakeside restaurant. Toufic was an exceptional, charming, knowledgeable and professional tour guide with a gift for connecting with people. I will be doing another experience upon my next trip to Ghana. Peace and Blessings

AMAZING - Our tour guide Toufic was excellent very professional, extremely knowledgeable, resourceful and was prompt. The naming ceremony was AMAZING very interactive an experience I will never forget. I would highly recommend this tour it’s definitely a must see for anyone wanting to interact with the locals from the dancing and everything. Ghana is Absolutely Remarkable! - My experience in Ghana was absolutely amazing due to Ghana Must Go Tours. Every day, they were early to pick us up from the hotel. Toufic, our guide was quite knowledgeable, kind, professional and made the trip very memorable. Toufic transformed our trip into an unforgettable adventure. His patience was remarkable, always taking the time to answer our numerous questions and making sure my friend and myself felt comfortable.
Toufic took wonderful pictures to help us capture the beauty of Ghana. He also provided insightful commentary that enriched our experience. His deep understanding of Ghana's culture, history, and environment was evident and his passion for sharing it with us was truly inspiring. Our itinerary was exceptional. We were able to visit Cape Coast Castle, the ancestral river, umbrella rock, 2 beautiful waterfalls, the cocoa farm, the Shai Hills Reserve and Lake Volta.
In addition, Toufic, introduced us to a beautiful village and we were able to partake in a memorable naming ceremony.
Ghana Must Go Tours made the entire trip pleasant and enjoyable. Toufic went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience, tailoring the trip to meet out pace, interests and needs.

My Naming Ceremony was exciting and emotional - I will treasure the entire experiences from the time Toufic collected me from my hotel, along the potholed roads, feeding the baboons along the road.
The villagers were so welcoming. They let me have a go at making a clay pot which was great fun. Then there was my naming ceremony, I felt very moved and humble as I received my Ghanaian names. I felt a connection with the community.
The entire trip is worth going on and can highly recommend it. Toufic is a true professional.

Home - the Volta Region - From the moment our guide, Kobe, picked us up, we felt like family. His energy was like we knew each other since birth and he spoke to us from a place of love and protection. He is very knowledgeable about our past and present while remaining hopeful for what the future brings to Ghana. When we arrived in the Volta Region, the children greeted us like little cousins who haven't seen us in so long! The elders embraced us with a true "welcome back home, we miss you" energy. We walked through the village and greeted our neighbors. Walked to the clear river and took in the beauty of the area. Then walked back to dance and laugh and hug our people. The naming ritual was spiritual and authentic to the Region. The names chosen by the elders fit each of us PERFECTLY!!! The blessings received were given in abundance and I am forever grateful for this experience.
