The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque ranks among the largest mosques globally and is a monumental architectural masterpiece that skillfully integrates various Islamic architectural styles. It boasts 82 domes, over 1,000 columns, chandeliers gilded with 24-carat gold, and the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet. The mosque was constructed from 1994 to 2007 and officially opened in December 2007. The complex spans approximately 290 by 420 meters (950 by 1,380 feet), covering more than 12 hectares (30 acres), excluding the exterior landscaping and parking areas.
