Fabulous guided walk - The Balmoral Cairns walk with Hillgoers is a great way to spend a few hours. It is varied terrain, with some hills but nothing too challenging. With toilets available at the start and a cafe at the end, it is also rather civilised compared to some Scotland walks. But the aspect that makes it really special is the commentary from excellent guide Gillian. She brought to life the world of Queen Victoria and her family, by stopping at each cairn and telling us about why it was there and the life of who it is dedicated to - really interesting little stories. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a bit of hill walking and has even the slightest interest in Balmoral and its history.
