Awesome Safari tour - We really enjoyed the Safari tour and saw lots of animals like elefants, peacocks, makaki monkeys, lots of different beautiful birds. The tour guide was very pleasent and provided lots of interesting facts about the animals.

Amazing Experience - Amazing tour would highly recommend. The tour guide was super informative and very knowledgeable, kind and friendly. We saw some baby elephants and a pregnant elephant, was amazing to see animals in their natural habitat. The park is alive with wildlife. Thank you for a lovely tour!

A great safari to break up the long drive - If you're looking for an unforgettable safari experience, I highly recommend this tour! From start to finish, the service was outstanding. Our friendly, young (but very safe!) taxi driver picked us up from our hotel, and the Prius easily fit our luggage (2 checked bags and 2 backpacks). The tour owner’s communication beforehand made the process seamless. Once at the safari, the tour owner also served as our guide, and he was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and highly skilled at spotting wildlife, especially birds. He ensured we had plenty of time to enjoy each sighting without feeling rushed. During the tour, we saw elephants, peacocks, and at a distance - water buffalos, a crocodile, and an incredible variety of birds at the lake. One thing that stood out, and something not often mentioned in reviews, was the vehicle’s comfort. This is important because the ride can be bumpy, and having seats in good condition made a big difference to our overall enjoyment. It’s worth noting this is a wildlife reserve, not a zoo, so the experience involves quiet moments and natural pacing. Embrace it as an opportunity to see animals in their natural environment, and you’ll cherish every sighting as we did. This was a well-organized, memorable adventure, and I highly recommend it.

Super nice safari tour! - It was great! We had a very dedicated taxi driver & a more than just dedicated safari tour guide. We saw a lot of animals! It was wonderful! We'll be back!

Amazing guide and memorable safari experience! - We had an incredible safari with Gimhana! We saw many animals who came very close to us! He told us information about each animal we saw & knew which routes to take to where the animals were likely to be. Gimhana also provided us with breakfast and lots of water. Amazing guide and incredible safari experience we will always remember!

Excellent safari! - Fantastic experience! Gimhana (our guide) was very friendly and helpful. He kept in contact via WhatsApp and was happy to help with taxis for the rest of our trip. He even prepared a Sri Lankan breakfast for us to take on the safari. We went for the seven hour safari, and saw many animals right from the start. Gimhana knew the right spots, and we were able to get close to elephant groups and more. We were on our own for the majority of the tour, so it never felt like we were following other jeeps. Overall, a well worth it experience, highly recommended!

Fantastic half day safari - The half day morning safari with Udawalawe Wild Safaris was fantastic. I selected this company based on feedback on Trip Advisor, and I have to say that they managed to exceed my expectations and we had a brilliant morning. The service they provided was great. We opted for the driver and guide package which I would highly recommend, both were excellent at finding animals which we would have otherwise missed! Our guide was very responsive to our wishes, which was to see lots of birds, and he very knowledgeable too. We saw so many animals during our 4 hour tour including multiple family groups of elephants with babies, over 20 Hornbills, 4 different birds of prey including 2 species of eagles, many monkeys as well as loads of other birds and deer. It really was a fantastic safari and we couldn’t have asked for more.

Absolutely amazing safari - We had an amazing experience on our 7 hour safari with Gimhana and his driver. We arranged everything via Whatsapp a few days prior where Gimhana explained everything to us. We were picked up and dropped off in our hotel in Unawatuna. We visited the elephant transit home and then went into the park. It was amazing, we saw lots and lots of elephants, monkeys, birds, eagles, buffalo, crocodile. Gimhana was very knowledgeable about all of the animals and was great at spotting them! We would recommend this to anyone who is thinking of doing a safari trip when in sri lanka.

Great experience in Udawalawe - We had an incredible safari tour with Gimhana as our nature guide - he is knowledgeable about the wildlife and knows the park very well. He is passionate and friendly and we enjoyed the tour with him. Upon our request he also arranged for a private car to pick us up from Ella and drop us off in Galle after the tour which made our trip much more convenient. Highly recommended!
