7-day trip around Iceland - My wife and I went on the 7 day complete Iceland tour. The small group bus tour was really nice because we made good friends with several people within the group of 18. Our tour guide (Diddi) was extremely experienced and timed out the excursion and meal stops very well. None of the stops felt rushed. We had bad weather (heavy rain and strong wind) for 4 out of 7 days, but that is late summer in Iceland for you. Diddi was able to pivot our itinerary so well where we enjoyed the sun more and did not miss out on anything. I’m glad we picked the guided tour for our trip because I don’t think I could have planned half of the things we saw on this tour. Diddi added his own histories and stories of growing up and his family that made the trip truly special.

Great tour of Iceland 7 days of wonder! - Fantastic trip with our family. Our guide Diddi made the experience so much more than it would have been on a self guided trip. We learned the history and geology of Iceland as we drove as well as some great stories and anecdotes that tied the trip together. Our lodging was taken care of which was a relief. The trip was flexible as we had terrible weather and Diddi customized the trip for the weather conditions. the meal recommendations that were not included were perfect. All the food stops were really good. I would strongly recommend arctic adventures it’s a real professional tour company.

Fabulous 7 day tour of Iceland - I travelled solo, yet I never felt alone. Great group of five. Our guide Thruster was just amazing, a fountain of knowledge and interesting information. I feel like we got a really good idea of the history, nature and geography of Iceland. A complete experience.

Amazing tour with the best guide, Karl!!! - This trip was everything I wanted it to be and more. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide/driver than Karl!!! He was amazing, has great stories, extra stops, so accommodating, and overall so much fun! We had a great group. Didn’t know where to start with all that Iceland has to offer and this trip has a little bit of almost everything. Would recommend again and again both the tour and specifically the amazing Karl!!’

The best tour! - The most amazing trip! You get to see more than a little bit of everything. The sights are unbelievable, our guide Karl was the BEST, and there was so much less stress since they took care of lodging and driving and most logistics. I would recommend this trip 100%.

I loved the experience and would book with them again. - It has been one of the best trips I have ever had, I went alone and I did not feel alone at all!!! They guided me well, they showed me all of Iceland and the guide was always super friendly!! Without a doubt if I return I would contact them again. They are super punctual in the itinerary and help you look for the northern lights!!! I booked it in advance and the whole activity arrived quickly, everything went very smoothly and the hotels were excellent. The explanations, everything in general, were very good!!

Day 1 - 6 was excellent but day 7 a disaster - Note. Due to how people work in Iceland this tour is a 6 day tour & day 7 is a 1 day tour. It also mixes people on other tours. Normally not a problem. The 6 day tour was excellent. The guide Hjalti was really good too. Being on a multi day tour meant we found out a lot more about how people live, believe and history of Iceland. As it was winter we didn’t see everything on the tour, there were some changes to timetables & we spent less time at each sight. This was fine as it was December so shorter days of light & a lot of snow/weather changes meant there was no alternative. Please consider this when you go. It was also a lot safer because we drove in weather extremes that required experience. In terms of the Northern Lights this is only information on how they appear and varied each day depending upon where the hotel was. The tour guide can not bring you out at night to specific places as it exceeds their allowed time to work. We weren’t told that some hotels would contact you if they appeared & I don’t think where we stayed would generally do so. We did not see them as it was either too light or too much cloud coverage. Note. There were some on our tour that did struggle physically with the tour. You do need to walk to most sights with some involving a lot of steps. This is not the fault of the tour but just how Iceland is. Unfortunately, evening of day 6 and day 7 was a disaster. The 1 day tour was cancelled due to bad weather and we + 3 others in our group had already been dropped off at the hotel for the night of day 6. Artic Adventures forgot that the 1 day tour included people on the 7 day tour. This meant we were told by email and no information was given on how we would get back to Reykjavik the following day. I had to phone them in a panic as they were closing soon and it took a lot of different phone calls to sort it. The others did not know until I told them as they had not read their emails. Luckily, there was another tour guide at the hotel for another tour that sorted it all out for us in the end. He had to change what customer service told me because he was only told about the other 3 in our group by me. We got back to Reykjavik the next day without any problems. However, we should not have been told the tour was cancelled by only an email and there should have been arrangements in place if they have to cancel a tour that is part of another tour. They could have asked the receptionist to inform us in addition to an email. It should not have been me and then another tour guide to sort this out. If day 7 had not happened we would definitely have put 5 out of 5, which is a shame.
