Xi’an - In the morning, our tour guide will meet you at your Xi’an hotel lobby at 9:00am and then transfer you to the Terracotta Warriors Museum, which is an 80-minute drive (45km).
The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses - We will reserve tickets for you online in advance, and your guide will help you skip the line at the entrance. Following your guide, you will explore the Terracotta Warriors Museum by visiting the three excavated pits, as well as the Bronze Chariots and Horses Exhibition Hall. Despite being buried for over 2,200 years, the clay warriors and horses remain vivid with distinct appearances. You will spend at least two and a half hours at this amazing site.
Small Goose Pagoda - Next, we will transfer to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, located inside Jianfu Temple, about one kilometer south of Xi’an city proper. It is one of the two famous and important Buddhist pagodas erected during the Tang Dynasty about 1300 years ago. Small Wild Goose Pagoda and its larger neighbor, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, are significant Buddhist sites dating back to the Tang Dynasty.
The two pagodas symbolized Chang’an (Constant Peace) city. Xi’an (West Peace) was called Chang’an until the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), when Beijing became the capital of China. Chang’an served as the capital for ten dynasties.
Xi’an City Wall (Chengqiang) - After lunch, we will transfer to the city wall. You can walk or cycle around the wall, with bike rental fees paid locally if you choose to cycle. The ancient City Wall, which stretches around the old city, is one of the most famous attractions in Xi’an. Today, it represents one of the oldest and best-preserved Chinese city walls and one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world.
Muslim Quarter - Our last stop will be the Muslim Bazaar, the most thriving area of the city. If you are interested, you can explore the bazaar at your own pace and then return to the hotel by yourself. Our guide will give you directions for returning to your hotel. The Great Mosque and the Bell and Drum Tower Square are within walking distance of the Bazaar. There are many boutique stores with fair prices and numerous excellent dining options for dinner.
Xi’an - Finally, your guide will escort you to your hotel.
Xi’an - Guilin by flight. O/N Guilin.
Xi’an - In the morning, our tour guide will meet you at your Xi’an hotel lobby at 8:30am and then transfer you to Hanyanglin, a 30-minute drive (15km).
Tomb of Emperor Jingdi (Hanyangling) - We will first drive for one hour to visit the Hanyangling Mausoleum, located at the site of the Mausoleum of Western Han Emperor Liu Qi, built in 153 AD. Accompanied by your guide, you will have a close look at the thousand-year-old tombs through the glass floors and walls in the tomb pits. Additionally, the advanced Spectra Vision program will recreate the real life of the Western Han Dynasty from about 2,000 years ago. You will have two hours to explore the site.
Shaanxi History Museum - After lunch, we will continue our Xi’an group tour to explore the Shaanxi History Museum. The unique historical and cultural heritage of Shaanxi is undoubtedly worth the praise as a treasure house of Chinese civilization. The Shaanxi History Museum is a palace of art displaying Shaanxi’s history and culture and China’s ancient civilization. The museum houses around 370,000 antiquities, ranging from prehistoric relics to those from the 1840s, spanning over a million years. Your guide will provide professional and comprehensive explanations.
Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta) - Instead of entering the temple to visit the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, we will have a photo stop here for half an hour. Based on suggestions from our former guests, it is enough to see the pagoda and the statue of Monk Xuanzang at the south square outside the temple. As a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists, the pagoda, built during the Tang Dynasty, was once the site where Xuanzang translated Buddhist sutras.
Nowadays, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda Area has become the most popular area for both tourists and locals in Xi’an. It is a wonderful place to enjoy charming night scenes and relax. Around the pagoda, there is a south square leading to the Great Tang All Day Mall, where you can appreciate many unique sculptures of Tang Dynasty styles and enjoy classical music performances in public. There is also a north square with the largest musical fountain in Asia, which is free but has scheduled show times. If you are interested, you may take a leisurely stroll here at night and then return to the hotel by yourself. Your guide will show you directions back.
Xi’an Xianyang International Airport - After the tour, we (driver + guide) will drive you to Xi’an International Airport for your flight to Guilin (CA1225 18:40-20:55). The flight takes around 2 hours.

Guilin - Our guide will pick you up at the lobby of your hotel at around 09:30 in the morning. You will be escorted to the well-known Reed Flute Cave, a 30-minute ride away.
Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan) - Upon arrival at the cave, you will enter the underground karst cave and marvel at the amazing formations of stalagmites and stalactites.
The Reed Flute Cave is a renowned karst cave with numerous stalagmites and stalactites in the shapes of bamboo shoots, pillars, curtains, and flowers, turning it into a splendid underground palace. Inside the cave, you can discover more astonishing sights, such as stone lions, miniature forests, pagodas, and crystal chambers. Each one has a romantic or interesting story associated with it. The vivid interpretation by our guide, along with the lighting, adds mystery to the scene. One trip to the cave lasts about 40 minutes.
Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - After a two-hour drive, we will reach the entrance for the Longji Terraces, where you will get the Longji entrance tickets for the rice terraces in Ping’an Village. This village has the most famous and beautiful rice terraces in Longji and is about a 30-minute drive from the entrance ticket office.
Ping’an Village - Upon arrival, we will take a moderate trek along the steps to Ping’an Zhuang Village. The walk up takes about 40 minutes. Our guide will take you on a stroll around the village, where you can glimpse the local Zhuang people’s unique wooden stilted houses, and we can have lunch in the village.
After a short lunch break, we will continue our terrace exploration to the No.2 Viewing Platform (Seven Stars with the Moon), a 15-minute walk, which is a fantastic spot for a bird’s-eye view of the Longji Terraces beneath your feet. You will have enough time to take pictures and enjoy the fresh air at the platform. Then, we will head to the No.1 Viewing Platform (Nine Dragons and Five Tigers), which requires a 30-minute walk along a flat path. Afterwards, we will check in at the hotel in Ping’an, and you will have free time.
Longji–Sanjiang–Yangshuo. O/N Yangshuo.
Ping’an Village - Today, you will take a Dong Minority tour to the Dong Village in Sanjiang. Situated at the foot of mountains and surrounded by rivers, Dong Village features well-preserved residential houses and a charming natural landscape.
Chengyang Bridge Scenic Resort - In the village, you will see the landmark constructions of the Dong village, the Wind and Rain Bridge, and the Drum Tower. Constructed with wood and bricks, the Wind and Rain Bridge blends the styles of a bridge, corridor, and kiosk into a whole, reflecting the unique Dong style and the wisdom of the Dong people. The bridge was built to provide shelter for people working in the fields but later became a dating place for young people and a famous attraction for visitors. When you see the lofty pointed tower with upturned eaves, you will know you have arrived at a Dong Village. The Drum Tower is always located in the center of a village, acting as the political and cultural center. Every time the village chief beats the drum on the top floor, villagers stop their work and gather around the Drum Tower.
Yangshuo County - After lunch at Chengyang Village, you will take a comfortable car ride for around 3 hours to your Yangshuo hotel and have a good rest.
Yangshuo. O/N Yangshuo
Yangshuo County - In the morning, our guide will meet you at 9am and take you to the Yangshuo countryside.
Yulong River - You will go along the Yulong River by bicycle or e-bike to immerse yourself in the local idyllic landscape for 2-3 hours. En route, you will see vast farmlands dotted with colorful wildflowers and log cabins, stretching out from the foot of rolling hills. Sometimes, you will see peasants driving one or two oxen to plow the fields, adding a sense of vitality to the rustic scenery.
Fuli Ancient Town - After the lunch break, we will drive for an hour to the Xingping Dock for your motorized raft journey on the Li River. On the way, we will pass by Fuli Town, which is renowned for its traditional handicraft - painted fans. If you are interested, we can make a short stop there.
Xingping Town - Upon arrival at Xingping Dock, you will board the motorized raft. Taking a ride on the Li River is always on the to-do list of a Guilin Yangshuo day tour. Compared with ordinary ships, the raft - a traditional means of transportation usually seating four people - offers a wider view and is the best way for visitors to enjoy the picturesque natural scenery. During the one-hour raft ride, you will see famous spots, including the Yellow Cloth Shoal, which is depicted on the CNY20 banknote, and Murals Hill, where verdant plants portray images of nine horses on a sharp cliff.
Important Tips: People over age 70 and children less than 1 meter tall are not allowed to take the Li River boat raft due to safety concerns.
Yangshuo County - After the boat tour, you can walk around the Xingping old street, and then we will drop you off at your Yangshuo hotel. There is an optional night show in Yangshuo called ‘Impression Sanjie Liu,’ performed above and on the Li River against verdant hills. The dreamlike stage effect and original singing and dancing of national minorities have earned the performance a great reputation among visitors. The show begins at 20:00 and lasts for 70 minutes; ticket prices range from CNY 268 to CNY 368 depending on the seats. If you are interested, our guide will reserve tickets for you and escort you to the site after you finish your dinner.
Yangshuo. The tour ends.
Yangshuo County - In the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel at around 09:00 and then escort you to the Yulong River, where you will start the Yangshuo Yulong bamboo boat tour.
Yulong River - Taking a bamboo raft ride on the Yulong River (or Dragon River), a tributary of the Li River, is a very relaxing way to enjoy the highly scenic area south of Yangshuo. Here, you can enjoy the stunning scenery and views of country life on a non-motorized raft in the traditional way, with a gondolier who steers you over the breakwaters past many small mud-brick villages and farmlands. Once you’re on the bamboo raft, sitting and enjoying the peaceful countryside and limestone mountains, the beauty of this experience unfolds before you. Even if you have cycled the area with a few hidden stretches approaching the river, the view from the river is very different. The boat ride lasts for 50 minutes, one way.
Xianggong Mountain - After the Yulong bamboo boat ride, we will drive you to see Yangshuo Xianggong Hill. We will climb for 15 minutes along a moderately sloped staircase to reach the top of Xianggong Hill. Please inform our guide in advance if you need a walking stick. Lying between the famous Yellow Cloth Shoal and Mural Hill, Xianggong Hill is one of the greatest viewing platforms in Guilin to take in the glamour of the Li River. The supreme view of the meandering Li River making a 180-degree bend attracts countless visitors and photographers annually.
Guangxi Airport Management Group Guilin Liangjiang International Airport Company - After lunch in Yangshuo, we will transfer you to the Guilin airport/train station or back to your Yangshuo hotel. This marks the end of our 6-day Xi’an–Guilin tour.
