A Bok Bus package tour is the best way to experience the most in a few days - We recently made a five day Garden route tour which was absolutely amazing. I made a similar great tour with Bok Bus 2006 on my own, and when I now a second time 2024 made it as a couple, the tour had been developed and was even better. I have found that a package tour with Bok Bus is a fantastic way of experiencing South Africa and getting most out of each travel day. It is much better than driving on your own. Trying to find your way to attractions, best viewing points, good restaurants and accommodation is time consuming and will end up being more expensive. Having your own private guide saves a lot of time and energy. You can relax and enjoy without thinking about the best route, where it is safe to go etc., and you learn more about the country than driving on you own. Our experienced driver and guide Chris had a long interesting lecture about South Africa’s history during the first day’s driving time. During the tour he continuously told about society, people, nature, plants and animals. He was very caring, not driving too long time without stop, and knew exactly where to make breaks for the best coffee or lunch quality. I can highly recommend a Bok Bus package tour for the company’s quality, reliability and service orientation. A very good choice for young people and all ages, regardless if you travel on your own, as a couple or a group. /Per P., Sweden/

Best travel experience in my life! - I would highly recommend Bok Bus 5 Day Garden Route Tour because of the following: an excellent Tour Guide named Chris! His deep knowledge about visited targets, overall background picture of interesting people connected to the area lifted the trip experience to higher grounds! Everything well told and with a good portion of humour! Amazing views of a beautiful, green landscape with highest mountains, cliffs on one side and the lively bluegreen ocean on the other. So beautiful! Hiking at Storms River was a real highlight as well as a visit to Cangoo Caves. The most unforgettable memory was an unprepared encounter with an upset elephant in Addo Elephant Park! Thanks to our great driver and guide Chris everything felt safe and good! There was even time for flexibility in the program so we could visit Monkeyland and Birds of Eden. Great places both of them! Fresh restrooms was well planned and time organized along the tour. Food and night shelter was great at all stops we made. Fabulous was the meal at Surfers' Restaurant in Jeffrey's Bay as well as the three course dinner at our last stay at Garden Route Lodge. Wonderful tour! 10 out of 10! Would love to do it all over again!

Fun on the 5 day Garden Route - We had a great time staying at a variety of guest houses and a lodge. Our guide Mawande provided friendly commentary and information and got us safely to each destination. We particularly liked the Garden Route Game Lodge where we saw Rhino, Buffalo, Lion, a variety of birds and of particular note a cheetah with it's kill, a springbok. 5 days goes really quickly, too quickly when your having fun.

Great Garden Route experience with a local - We did the 5 Day Garden Route Tour to explore more of beautiful South Africa. Our guide Mawande made this trip unforgettable. He knows so much about the country, it's history and the people. As we were a small group he adapted to our individual preferences throughout the day and gave lots of recommendations for what to do at each place. He knows the best spots! Our highlights were the Garden Route Game Drives, the Ostrich farm and the beautiful beach at Jeffreys Bay. For anyone who wants to experience a lot in a short amount of time, this is your trip!

A memorable experience! - We actually took the 5-day Garden Route tour with BokBus in December 2022. Sorry for the delayed review, due to ill health last year. It was a wonderful trip and one of the highlights of our tour was our guide and driver, Benjamin. He was a great driver, very knowledgeable about the route and all the sights he took us to. Very friendly and caring, especially the last day when I had a fall and he did everything he could to take care of me. Thanks Benjamin! The views along this route are incredible. We absolutely loved the penguin colony, Addo Elephant Park and the two game drives at the Garden Route Lodge, which were amazing. Accommodations were good to very good, and the Garden Route Lodge in particular was spectacular. The food was excellent in every place we stayed at. I highly recommend this tour and this tour company!

Highlights of the Garden Route - This tour was simply a dream! The sights and accommodations were excellent. In the 5 days we saw everything that the Garden Route has to offer that was beautiful and interesting. Whether it was an ostrich farm, elephants, safari (afternoon and morning) or city tours, everything was there. The accommodations were really good and every morning we enjoyed a very good breakfast. Dinner was eaten in various restaurants with the whole group. Our tour group consisted of 10 people of all ages (couples, solo travelers) of 6 different nationalities and we had a lot of fun together. The trip was very pleasant and the vehicle was in a very safe and clean condition. But the best thing was our guide Benjamin. He is a really nice and courteous person who answered all our questions, fulfilled our wishes and was always available with help and advice. His explanations and comments were always very detailed and informative. He contributed significantly to the good atmosphere of this tour. At the end we were dropped off at the airport on time and reliably for our onward flight. We can only recommend this tour without reservation.

Memorable and joyous trip - I had the most incredible time on the 5-day tour. Our guide was wonderful, met some incredible people and had memorable experiences. I would recommend this to anyone looking to explore around the southern coast of South Africa, without the stress of navigating everything by yourself. A very comfortable and fun trip, thank you to everyone (especially our guide Benjamin) who made my experience incredible.

Shame about the pool - A lovely place to visit. The chalets were well-equipped, clean and nice and cool with a lovely balcony. The restaurant is decent and serves good food and wine. The most frustrating this is how the pool area has been neglected. It is actually a nice pool but the surrounding grass areas are not tended, barren patches and uncut grass even round the pool edge. If the ground was levelled (currently on slopes) it would be an easy remedy. There is also little shade and about 3 sun loungers, not easy for several families that visited when we were there. What they really need is someone to properly manage the pool (not leave a hose on all day to irrigate which just runs down the slope and creates a swamp!) Some nice parasols and better sun loungers too would be nice.

Great safari and the bus ride was to long - The tour guide was great! We went during Christmas and we did the tour backwards. We had a really great time and tour guide ‘Mawande’ was great and very flexibel. We would not recommend to do the 5 day trip. 3 is enough. The last two days we spend almost the whole day in the bus. That was too much. At day 4 it was 5 hours and on day 5 we spend 6 hours on the bus. We think you can skip Jeffrey's bay. It is just a beach and we had dinner at a hostel. Cool if you are 25 years old, but not for us. So we are enthusiastic about the first 3 days. The safari was great! And we slept in very pretty lodges. +we are a gay couple and that was no problem at all +the safari +stay in lodges +tour guide ‘Mawande’ -sitting in the bus for so long -Jeffrey’s bay stay. The hotel, the town and the food. *couple from the Netherlands
