Route 62 Mountain Adventures - We drive through the mountains on the R62 Wine Route in the Montagu area. This is the most scenic part of the R62 Wine route area.
Outeniqua Pass - The Outeniqua Pass is beautiful. Driving through the pass you will be blown away by grotesque Outeniqua mountain, the fresh air, and gorgeous surroundings. Beautifully kept clean and an absolute must-see for any visitor to the Garden Route.
Wilderness - From Oteniqua Pass we reach George. Then we proceed to Wilderness. Lying in the foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains in a region of incomparable beauty, Wilderness is an attractive holiday resort with beautiful beaches and numerous vantage points from which to watch the whales and dolphins.
Knysna - From Wilderness our final stop is Knysna for the night.
Knysna stands out on South Africa’s famed Garden Route thanks to the sandstone cliffs that dramatically separate its tranquil lagoon from the pounding surf of the Indian Ocean. It’s also home to the country’s largest indigenous forest. Hop aboard a ferry for a ride through the scenic highlights.
After breakfast we explore the beauty of Knysna, first visiting the Knysna Heads
Knysna Heads - The Heads are a natural mystic in Knysna. The Atlantic Ocean shows it power pushing through. On top you have a amazing view over the ocean and the lagoon. This view is a must see! The heads also have beaches where you can listen to the waves and enjoy being there.
There are numerous view points and opportunities for memorable photographs.
Robberg Nature Reserve - From the Knysna Heads we head off the Robberg Nature Reserve, definitely one of the best in South Africa. Robberg Nature Reserve is where we do hiking. As you hike, expect inspiring landscapes, exciting dolphin and whale sightings in season, and to be accompanied on their walks or hikes by a variety of bird species and the occasional seal.
Plettenberg Bay - We visit beaches in Plettenberg Bay. Plettenberg Bay offers holiday makers a wonderful holiday experience. The town has miles of sweeping golden beaches, the dramatic Robberg Peninsula, intriguing lagoons and estuaries, indigenous forests and unpolluted rivers and sea to entice visitors.
Knysna Boat Charters - Lagoon Boat Cruises, Oyster Tours, Sunset Cruises, Kayak & SUP Hire - In late afternoon we return to Knysna for an afternoon or sunset boat cruise. This is an optional extra.
After breakfast we depart from Knysna and head to Addo National Park
Addo Elephant National Park - Discover…Experience…Explore a world of diversity in one Park. Now the third largest national park in South Africa, Addo Elephant National Park has expanded to conserve a wide range of biodiversity, landscapes, fauna and flora. We do a game drive in our vehicle at this huge national park, the 3rd largest in South Africa.
Bloukrans Bridge - From Addo National Park we head off to the Bloukrans Bridge. Here there is an opportunity to do the bungy jump, the highest in the world at 216 metres (optional extra - cost $70-00)
After breakfast we depart from Knysna and head to Cape Alguhus
Cape Agulhas - We drive to Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of Africa. In Cape Agulhas we visit a viewpoint known as the “real” place where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet.
Hermanus - From Cape Alguhas we head off to Hermanus for the night. Beautiful Hermanus is a South African seaside town that’s a popular whale-watching site. An initial visit to the Old Harbour Museum will acquaint you with the area’s rich fishing history and impress you with a massive exhibit of a whale skeleton. There are dozens of area vineyards as well.
In Hermanus, you can also go for an afternoon whale watching boat cruise, optional extra, cost $60-00
After breakfast we relax in Hermanus and tour this beautiful town. We visit Sculpture in the Cliffs in Hermanus
Hermanus - Hermanus is rich in breathtaking scenery; with its unparalleled scenic beauty, modern infrastructure, upmarket shops and endless adventure options, it is no wonder that Hermanus is transformed into a bustling hubbub of activity in-season as well as out-of-season. We tour the beautiful Hermanus.
Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate - From Hermanus we depart and head to Benguela Cove Wine Estate for a world class wine tasting experience. Benguela Cove Wine Estate is a top wine producer in South Africa and is ranked among the top 100 wine producers in the world.
Betty’s Bay - From Benguela Cove Wine Estate, we proceed to Betty’s Bay to view a colony of endangered African penguins.
