Highlights

MOMBASA – TSAVO WEST (240 KM – Approx. 4 hours)

Tsavo National Park West - Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

The safari kicks off with a pick-up from your beach hotel or resort. We’ll travel along the picturesque Mombasa – Nairobi Highway, taking in views of farmlands and the Kenyan countryside.

The trip includes several stops for stretching and refreshments. You’ll appreciate the landscape of Tsavo West almost as much as its wildlife. Here, you’ll embark on game drives over rolling hills and grassy savannah, passing volcanic lava beds and lush oases. In addition to the big game, keep an eye out for smaller creatures like bushbaby, lesser kudu, and dik-dik.

After lunch, we’ll head to a special site in the park – the 90 sq. km rhino sanctuary. This protected area is home to over 80 of the endangered, nocturnal animals. With some luck, we might spot one of these massive but elusive rhinos.
Our safari evening will be spent at your choice of a safari lodge or tented camp.

TSAVO WEST – AMBOSELI (100 km – Approx. 2.5 hrs.)

Amboseli National Park - Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll rise early to explore two national parks today!

One of the highlights of Tsavo West is a spring-fed oasis called Mzima Springs. Mzima means “life” in Swahili, and here we will find many forms of life at these nourishing waters – hippo, crocodile, exotic fish, and birds.

We’ll explore the shaded banks of the springs on foot and observe other wildlife like zebra and giraffe that are drawn to this area.

Our final game drive will take us to the park’s borders and a relatively short trip to Amboseli Park to the south.

You might be able to track your journey to the park as the great form of Mt. Kilimanjaro appears on the horizon. This tallest peak in Africa provides a majestic backdrop to Amboseli, framing the reserve’s wildlife. So be sure to have your camera ready.

We will have a relaxed afternoon watching for wildlife. The park’s small size and sparse foliage make game spotting easier.

AMBOSELI – TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK (260 km – Approx. 4hrs)

Tsavo National Park East - We’ll rise with the dawn for a pre-breakfast game drive and perhaps a clear view of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summit.

A hearty safari breakfast follows to prepare us for the day ahead. On our final game drive as we leave the park, we’ll be on the lookout for lion, cheetah, and hyena… and we’ll bid farewell to the elephants of Amboseli.

Now we’re back on the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway as we head to Tsavo East National Park, Kenya’s largest.

Here at Tsavo, the terrain is rugged and sparse, but that only makes the game viewing more accessible. We’ll be looking for the big hunters and grazers, especially the “red-dust” elephants. The giant beasts here like to roll in the red oxide soil, giving themselves a hearty coating of the rusty color.

We will have a relaxing afternoon, tracking the many species of the park, including over 500 types of birds.

It’s been a busy day and as the sunset approaches, we’ll freshen up for dinner and the evening ahead.

TSAVO EAST – MOMBASA (160 km – Approx. 2-3 hrs)

Tsavo East - Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

We’ll get up… early! There’s so much to see here at Tsavo. After appreciating the wildlife as it emerges into the light, we’ll head back for breakfast.

During our stay at Tsavo East, we’ll visit some of its famous watering holes like Mudanda Rock and Aruba Dam, where a multitude of wildlife seek the life-sustaining waters. Don’t be surprised to find every sort of species sharing this communal space.

But soon it is time to head back to Mombasa and the Kenya coast.

Danson was the best guide ever!! - Danson was the best guide we could ever ask for! He is super smart and knowledgeable, he answered every question we had and explained us about the animals and wildlife, while showing us the best secret spots of the safari. He was always looking out for interesting animals and taking us there. He valued our time and wellbeing, he knew when to show us more and when we should take a break to enjoy everything. We didn’t feel rushed or bored at any time. Besides his proffesionalism and expertise, he’s also the kindest, funnyest and overall best person. By the end of our trip he felt like part of our family and we were sad to leave him, but so happy with the memories he helped us make. I couldn’t recommend him more. Danson, we hope to see you again soon, thank you for everything!

A magic experience - Such a great human being and experienced guide! His experience is truly amazing, you could tell he loves what he is doing and is very good at it! He is an incredible driver too, makes you feel super safe even on those bumpy safari trips! He knew when to take it slow and enjoy the moment, or when to rush to the other side of the park to catch the lions. We spent long hours in the car with him so it’s very important to get along with your guide, it makes or breaks the whole experience. For that, Damson is your guy!!

Fantastic experience, excellent safari guide - Excellent safari guide, felt safe throughout. We took a 4 day safari as part of a Tourcompass package. Saidi was our driver, he took great care along the dirt tracks and made sure that our experience was top notch. We managed to see 4 of the big 5 animals, we felt very lucky to see cheetahs and lions. Our driver did a great job of networking with other drivers to find the location of the big cats. The car was equipped with binoculars and a cooler for water. The roads were bumpy but the car was in good condition and could handle the off road experience well. Saidi was always punctual and polite, he explained the species and animal behaviours on the game drives, he clearly enjoys seeing the animals as much as we do.

Unforgettable experience and lifetime family memory in Tsavo East, West and Amboseli - Safari Review: Richard, July 29th - August 1st Richard arrived promptly for our 6:30 AM pickup and had us on the road in no time. Within 15 minutes, he had already established a rapport with the kids, who eagerly listened to his engaging stories throughout the safari. Richard's friendliness and extensive knowledge were evident as he answered all our questions about wildlife and African culture. His driving skills were exemplary, navigating rugged terrain with care and precision. While safari experiences can be unpredictable, we were fortunate to see a variety of animals, including elephants, zebras, and giraffes. A highlight was witnessing a pride of lions in the midst of a hunt, though it grew too dark to see the conclusion. Despite our efforts, we missed seeing cheetahs, leopards, and rhinos. However, Richard did everything possible to locate these elusive animals, exploring remote tracks and spotting wildlife we might have otherwise missed. He was always ready to stop for photo opportunities and waited patiently for us to be ready before moving on. Richard also organized an optional visit to a Masai village, which involved a small additional fee paid directly to the village chief. This was a wonderful experience for the children, and Richard accommodated the visit by adjusting our schedule, departing early the following morning to make up for the lost time. The safari was well-managed, with regular toilet breaks and ample water. The jeep was comfortable for off-road conditions. We enjoyed shopping for souvenirs at some stops, though bargaining was necessary. Be prepared for high initial prices and negotiate firmly to get a reasonable deal. The lodges were excellent for our one-night stays, offering good breakfasts, lunches, and pleasant surroundings. Richard's enthusiasm and commitment made the safari truly memorable. His dedication was evident as he shared our disappointment in missing the cheetah and leopard sightings. Every interaction with Richard and his colleagues, including Martha, was positive. The overall experience was exceptional, and we rate the company a perfect 11 out of 10. A big thank you to Natural World Kenya Safaris-Mombasa and Tour Compass for their outstanding arrangements.

Amazing safari trip - It would be an understatement if we said that this trip was good. It was absolutely amazing! We got to see so many animals, and experience Kenya to the fullest. Our tour guide Saidi was incredibly friendly, and passionate about showing off the beauty’s of Kenya. He could answer every question you threw at him, and easily made us laugh. The safari trip wouldn’t have been the same without Saidi, since he taught us so many things about the animals and nature, whilst making us feel safe. Higly recommend this for anyone interested!!! Thank you Saidi and Natural World Kenya Safari’s!!

Best Expirience for the Best Value of Money! - I was googling quite long for safari tours operated with a 4x4 Jeep and preferably private, which not cost a crazy amount of money. Then I found Natural World Safaris-Mombasa, and it was the best decision to book our safari (4D3N) there. We (2 pax/Apr24) booked the Luxury Tour, where you can choose between different Lodges/Hotels (also for the Economy or Comfort Tours). Actually, it was the only tour I could find, where you could choose pick-up, drop off and the hotels. Our driver picked us up on time at our Hotel at Diani Beach. Already on our way to the first National Park (Tsavo West) we saw some Zebras. Henry, our guide, always stopped for us, so we could take pictures. This was our first Safari and he promised us that we will see lions and a herd of elephants and so on – already on the second day at Tsavo West we saw two lions – and we were the only ones there. Really impressive. At Amboseli we got to see the herds of Elephants and at Tsavo East Baby Lions. It was so amazing, and Henry was the best guide we could ever wish for. He tried so hard that we could see all the animals at the game drives – amazing! I can only recommend this tour – the value of money is unbeatable. And again, a BIG THANK YOU to Henry to make this Safari an unforgettable/memorable experience. We felt like we saw “The Lion King” in real. So do yourself a favor and book your Tour with Natural World Kenya Safaris-Mombasa

Tsavo east/west and Amboseli safari - Overall a good experience. The toilet stops all involve a tourist shop where you get pestered into buying, with little choice of food or drink to buy. Tourist should be given the option of whether to stop at the Masai village or not as a donation of $20 per person is a lot of money to some people and not expected as it’s not mentioned on the holiday booking with Tour compass. The lodges were all amazing, I could have sat watching the animals at the water holes for hours. Our driver Said was a very good driver on sometimes really bad roads, but we felt he drove too fast around the national parks and we could be missing out on spotting some of the animals. Our guide Omar spoke very good English. He was very friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the area of Mombasa. We did not see leopard, cheetah or rhino, but do appreciate the vast area the parks cover.
