Kibale National Park - Your guide will pick you up at 7am and drive you to Kibale National Park, famously known as the Primate Capital of the World. The park boasts over 13 recorded species of primates, including habituated chimpanzees that have established close contact with humans, as well as monkeys such as the red colobus, black and white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, blue monkey, red-tailed monkey, and baboons.
Kibale Forest - Chimpanzee Tracking
Kibale National Park - Kibale National Park is home to the highest population of primates, with over 13 species including red colobus, black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, blue monkey, red-tailed monkey, baboons, and chimpanzees. Forest elephants also inhabit the forest.
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters for a briefing from the game rangers at around 8am. Following the briefing, you will embark on a walk through Kibale Forest in search of chimpanzees and other primates, guided by the rangers. While sightings are not guaranteed, there is a high chance (90%) of encountering these fascinating animals. They are truly captivating to observe.
In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a nature walk to Bigodi Wetland, which is community-owned. Here, you can observe a variety of bird species and other primates, including red colobus, black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, blue monkey, red-tailed monkey, and baboons, as you stroll around the swamp. You will then return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Kibale Forest - Kampala
Kibale National Park - After breakfast in the morning, you can relax or participate in optional activities around the forest before beginning your drive back to Kampala. Your guide will drop you off at the airport for your flight home or at your preferred place of residence.
