Highlights

Moshi to Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - Your journey begins from Moshi to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds. Groups of up to 300 elephants can be seen digging the dry riverbed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest, and eland gather around the dwindling lagoons. This park boasts the highest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem, making it a haven for predators. It’s also the only place in Tanzania where you can regularly spot dry-country antelope like the elegant fringe-eared oryx and the unique long-necked gerenuk. During the rainy season, these seasonal visitors disperse over a 20,000 sq. km (12,500 sq. miles) area until the green plains are depleted and they return to the river. Enjoy an incredible game drive in Tarangire, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at Karatu campsite.

Karatu to Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - Early in the morning, after breakfast, our experienced driver will pick you up and drive you to Ngorongoro Crater, which is about a 30-minute drive from your camp. After checking in at Loduare gate, you will descend to the crater floor, where you’ll be amazed by the variety and number of animals and birds. Whether seated or standing in our pop-up safari vehicles, the viewing opportunities are endless. The excitement builds as we spot any of the Big 5 or receive a radio call about a lion perched on a nearby rocky outcrop or a black rhino sighting, prompting us to rush for a glimpse before the moment passes. The thrill continues with each new sighting, perhaps a lioness and her cubs right next to our vehicle. The excitement of the chase is indescribable. In the late afternoon, we’ll drive back to Karatu for dinner and accommodation at Haven Nature.

The next day, after lunch, shopping, and an optional Maasai tour at Mto wa Mbu, our guide will drive you back to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). You’ll arrive at the airport at 4:30 pm and check in at 6:00 pm for your flight home around 8:30 pm.

The most beautiful days in Tanzania, thanks to KLM Safaris for everything - The trip was amazing and perfectly organized. From the moment we were picked up from the airport until the last day at the waterfall and the coffee farm, everything was perfect and suited me and my four and a half year old daughter. The trip was suitable for her ability and built exactly for our needs. The guide Emmanuel was charming and friendly and made sure we saw everything and that she could enjoy herself to the maximum. Special thanks to Gileard who took care of everything and organized a perfect and varied trip for us. warmly recommended, we can't wait to come back again for more Safari adventures with this great safari company!

Incredible safari - Amazing experience. Our guide Freddy picked us up in Moshi at 6am and we arrived at Tarangire for 11. The following few hours were mind-blowing, as we marvelled at the scenery and animals from our rooftop perch. Highlights included watching around 40 elephants drinking at the river and then later enjoying a mud bath, before mingling with the jeeps. Zebras, buffalo and giraffes galore. Much hilarity at the picnic site when one of our pupils had his lunch stolen by a monkey! Overnight accommodation at Haven Nature was excellent: comfortable beds and warm showers, and it felt a very safe place for our 23 school pupils. An early start took us to Ngorongoro, where the mist cleared into glorious sunshine and lion sightings. One male lion walked within centimetres of the jeeps. Stunning to behold. A troop of baboons entertained us before we witnessed a large number of hippos bathing in a pool, a picture of contentment. A number of ostriches, bustards and flamingos caught the eye, while scores of gazelle, zebra and wildebeest grazed together in perfect harmony. Our group were spread over 5 jeeps and all the guides were more than happy to answer any questions. Their knowledge of the wildlife is excellent and really added another dimension to our experience. A fantastic end to our 2 weeks in Tanzania!

Informative guide - I was there with 2 other staff members with a group of 24 teenagers. We had this safari on the end of a working trip in Moshi. What a treat it was! The group was split between a few vehicles each with a friendly and informative driver. Ours managed to spot 2 black rhino in the distance, which I saw as 2 black blobs, one of the clever kids on my jeep took a photo on her mobile through binoculars and he was right! Packed lunches each day were plentiful and delicious. Accommodation at Haven was basic but pleasant, it was good to be away from a busy town and back in the country! Fully recommend KLM Safari for their communicative, informative and friendly staff.

Amazing and life changing experience - This safari far exceeded my expectations. We saw herds of elephants crossing the road in front of us, giraffes within arm’s reach, lions, rhinos, hippos, hundreds of flamingos and zebras, monkeys and so much more. Despite being so close to these animals, we constantly felt safe and in extremely good hands as the drivers are so experienced and friendly. All the drivers communicate through radios to ensure that you don’t miss out on anything and they always made the extra effort to make our experience the best and most unforgettable it could be.

Amazing Experience - We had an amazing experience on our 3 day safari with KLM. The safari jeeps were comfortable and we could open the roof to stand up and get a better view of the animals. Our guide Elly was lovely and gave us lots of information about the area and animals. Lots of the animals came right up to within metres of the jeeps. It was amazing to see the animals in their natural habitat. I would definetely recommend KLM safaris.
