Highlights

Delphi - Meteora

Arachova - Your tour begins early in the morning, with your driver picking you up from your hotel. The first stop is the picturesque village of Arachova, one of the most renowned winter resorts in the country. After some time to explore, we’ll head to Delphi.

Delphi - Delphi is home to the sanctuary of the god Apollo. People from all walks of life across Greece would come here, offering tributes and seeking an audience with Pythia, the high-priestess and oracle of Apollo. Her prophecies even influenced state policies. Among the sights you’ll visit are the Temple of Apollo, the Castalian Spring, the Temple of Athena Pronaia, the theatre, and the stadium. The museum features several world-famous exhibits, including the Statue of Antinous and the Charioteer of Delphi.

Thermopylae - On the way to Meteora, we’ll stop at Thermopylae, where a small group of Spartans and their allies made a stand against the much larger Persian army in 480 B.C. A monument honoring King Leonidas of Sparta stands on the site. Over millennia, erosion has significantly altered the terrain. A visit to the Historical Information Center of Thermopylae will help you understand every aspect of this historic event. After Thermopylae, we’ll head to the city of Kalabaka to spend the night.

Meteora - Athens

Meteora - We start the day with a tour of Meteora, where massive rock pillars rise into the sky. The name “Meteora” means “suspended in the air,” aptly describing the monasteries built on these rocks, dating back to the 9th century AD. Second only to the monastic community of Mount Athos, Meteora’s natural beauty and architectural wonders have earned it a place on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. While there, you can walk along beautiful natural trails and visit three of the monasteries in the area.

Kamena Vourla - We will stop for lunch in Kamena Vourla before heading back to Athens and your accommodation. Kamena Vourla is a small fishing village on the North Aegean Sea.
