Highlights

Cluj Napoca to Carpathian Mountains

Cheile Borzești - Hike Description
After a 50-minute drive, we arrive at the starting point of our hike. The trail begins near Buru Hut, adjacent to the national road. We follow the Borzesti brook, which carves a wild gorge before merging with the Aries. The trail markers guide us through the gorge, past two waterfalls that require caution. Midway through the gorge, we continue without trail markers, following the stream past several rapids to Gura Jigaului, a former watermill site. On our return, we take a different route, ascending to the Coltu Corbului Peak viewpoint. Here, we enjoy a traditional Romanian picnic before descending through the forest back to Buru Hut. The relative obscurity of these gorges makes them an ideal haven for those seeking tranquility and moments of serenity.
