Tsavo National Park East - Your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide will swing by early to get your safari going. You’ll depart in your private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Safari Jeep taking the Likoni Ferry to Mombasa and then by highway to Tsavo East.
Along our route, you’ll witness the African sunrise, coloring the passing landscapes and preparing us for the exciting day ahead.
Arriving at Tsavo East National Park, you’ll encounter a vast area of rugged terrain and big sky. We’ll head to the watering holes like Aruba Dam and the Kanderi marshes where large numbers of wildlife gather.
Notice the park’s foundation of red-oxide soil - its populations of elephants like to roll in this rusty earth giving themselves a reddish hue.
Besides elephants, we’ll be tracking for lion, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, antelope, and the hundreds of bird species sprinkled throughout the park.
Then it’s a short drive to neighboring sister park, Tsavo West, whose green rolling hills contrast with the morning’s desert-like game drives.

Tsavo West is known for its unexpected treasures, such as the lush oasis of Mzima Springs. This secluded haven, nourished by a natural spring, is the home of exotic fish, birds, hippos, and crocodiles nestled amongst the palm trees.
The elusive rhinos may be hard to spot, but at the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, your chances significantly improve. It shelters over 80 of these vulnerable species.
